Rahayu is the Principal Partner of Rahayu Partnership, a boutique Maritime Law Firm based in Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA

She graduated from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom with a Bachelor of Law (Hons) in 1996 and was then was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1999.

She started her practice doing Shipping, Maritime and Admiralty matters when she was an Intern in a Subang Jaya law firm specialising in the same. She continued at the same law firm as a Pupil under a Master who is amongst the few reputable Shipping Maritime and Admiralty lawyer in Malaysia at that time. She remained as an Associate and subsequently made Partner before leaving in 2011 to manage Rahayu Partnership.

Rahayu will be celebrating her 25 years in Maritime Law Practice in 2024.

1) Represented a Public Listed Company in the Reflagging of 2 units of FPSO from a Foreign Ship Registry to Malaysian Ship Registry.
2) Represented a Local Development Bank who is financing the acquisition of J unit of Anchor
3) Represented a Local Development Bank who is financing the acquisition of 1 unit of Oil Product Tanker by a Local Shipowner Company
4) Represented a Foreign Company in acquiring 6 units of Secondhand Fast Crew Boats from a Local Shipowner Company
5) Represented a Subsidiary of a Public Listed Company in acquiring 1 unit of Newbuild Fast Crew Boat from a Foreign Shipbuilder

1) Provided advice on all areas of ship finance from structured finance and all related loan, leasing and security documents; charterparties; contracts with suppliers and sub-contractors; ship and offshore unit construction and conversion; to ship sale and purchase, both domestically and internationally.
2) Representedbanks, equity investors, ship owners and shipyards in respect of all aspects of deal structuring documentation, negotiation and registration of securities and loans.
3) Provided advice on the acquisition, construction and financing of all types of ships, mobile drilling units, FPSOs and other equipment in the shipping, offshore and energy sectors.
4) Provided advice on financing and security for new and second-hand vessels on behalf of banks, financiers and ship owners.
5) Provided advice on shipbuilding repair and conversion contracts.
6) Provided advice on ship employment contract including leases, bareboat charters, time charters, contract of affreightment and liner container documentation.
7) Provided advice on joint ventures, fleet ownership structures and corporate arrangements.
8) Provided advice on securitizations and financing structures in shipping shipbuilding offshore and pols projects.
9) Provided advice on documentation for the sale and purchase of second-hand vessels, resales of new vessels, vessels under construction and dealing with documentary closings, vessel

11) Provided advice on all aspects of insurance including marine insurance, liability insurance, property insurance; from policy liability; legal actions such as the arrest of ship or arranging security from a third party; to domestic and international recovery claims.
12) Represented local and international insurers, insurance intermediaries, other insurance professionals and various regulatory bodies.
